Spanish Classes at MEHS

Last week students were introduced to Salsa dancing by Heather and Antonio from Juneau. The pair arrived later than expected due fog in Juneau (what else is new?), but jumped off the plane and into the classroom full of music, humor, and fun. An added bonus was getting to meet their three month old son, Diego. Diego is going to have the most amazing rhythm imaginable if the amount of time he spends dancing with his parents is any indication. Antonio is originally from Peru and works in Juneau as a chef. According to Heather, Salsa is “just a passion”. In addition to teaching Salsa classes, they have a Salsa band.

Many of the students that were introduced to the Salsa on Friday went to a workshop held at the Hames P.E. Center on Saturday as well.

Diego was, of course, a hit with everyone.
