We are excited about our new plans and excited about the new personnel we have to help us initiate the programs. MEHS welcomes six new staff members on board:
Ms. Yi Zhang comes to us from the city of Suzhou in East China. She will be our instructor for Chinese Language I & II courses and also teach several sections of Pacific Rim Studies.
Mr. Joel Lueders has been hired as our new Academic Counselor. He previously served in that same capacity with the Denali Borough School District and was home based in Healy, Alaska.
Mr. Bob Hunsick will be our new Business / Office Manager. Bob is originally from Phoenix, Arizona but has lived more recently in Juneau and Anchorage.
Ms. Sheri Sjogren will experience her student teaching opportunity under the guidance of one of our finest instructors, Mr. Paul Fitzgibbon of our Social Studies Department. Sheri is enrolled in the highly successful Master in Arts of Teaching (M.A.T.) Program at the University of Alaska Southeast.
MEHS has the honor once again of hosting three wonderful Americorp Volunteers who will work as academic tutors and as recreational aides: Mr. Josh Vranek returns for a second year on our campus (no picture).
Ms. Megan Britson from Rochester, Minnesota
Ms. Katie Whipkey from Mineral Ridge, Ohio join our staff.
We are most fortunate and appreciative of these outstanding young people’s contribution to our school.
