Fall 2009 Beach Creatures!

By Science/Math Teacher: Jack Davis

Last week we finished up a fun activity we call Beach Creatures. Student teams collect at least 7 items from the beach and make an animated creature. Upon completing their BC, they write down instructions for how to make their BC. The instructions consist of a materials list of at least 7 items, a list of 10 steps for assembly, and three drawings from three different views. The parent is then locked in a secure hiding place. The construction instructions are then passed onto another team, that works to assemble a clone of the BC. It’s a lot of fun!

Tiana Bactad and Paula Slim show off their Clone of Lulu.

Nelson Kanuk and Gusty Akelkok show off the parent Amarok and their clone.

Byron Phillips shows off his clone of Rosco.
(Notice the cranberry eyes dried out on the parent.)

This is Jenn Prince and Ruby Okitkun with their version of Metal Bob.

Nadine Sinka-Okitkun and Chelsea Campbell show-off their large Clone of Hammy.

Robert Whittington and Tommy Togiak are the proud parents of clone Reuben.

Thank you parents for the opportunity to work with your awesome children!
