The Mt. Edgecumbe Braves will enter the Region V tournament as the three seed in the 3A boys bracket.
The Braves’ first-round opponent has not yet been determined, pending the outcome of two games this weekend (Feb. 26-27) between Wrangell and Metlakatla. The Braves will play 4:45 p.m. Wednesday at B.J. McGillis Gymnasium and Wrangell is their likely opponent. The Braves beat Wrangell twice in early February, but that was before the team lost senior Daniel Peters to a broken foot.

The Braves beat the hosts 52-38 behind 10 points apiece from John Peterson (Golovin) and Sean Melovidov (St. Paul). Jaylin Prince (Kotlik) had 7 points and Robert Kruger (Nulato) chipped in 6.
The Braves beat Dillingham 57-37 the next night, with Zach Ivanoff, a junior from Unalakleet leading the way with 15 points. Prince had 12 points and Alexie Nick (Pilot Station) scored 9. Donovan Phillip, a sophomore from Alakanuk, added 8 for the Braves.
