Children who receive free or reduced-price school meals can get the nutrition they need when schools are closed. Approved sites in communities across the country can serve meals to kids up to age 18 at no cost. Families can use this tool to find directions to nearby meal sites, as well as their hours of operation and contact information.

The last day of school for MEHS is May 8, 2026 and school resumes August 24, 2026

The Whale Pod Café at Mt. Edgecumbe High School serves hearty, nutritious meals three times a day, Monday through Friday, a special breakfast on Saturdays and brunch and dinner on the weekends. Our breakfast and lunch menus (Monday through Friday) and Saturday School are designed with three or more options that meet all USDA National School Breakfast and Lunch Program standards.
Our dinner and weekend brunch service features a variety of homemade entrées, hearty vegetables, fresh fruit and garden bars, and delicious house-made desserts. Menus can be found at Whale Pod Café.
Special food requests can be made for individual students with unique dietary needs as verified by the student's physician.
